This project transforms a simple clock into a high-energy visual spectacle, drawing inspiration from the aesthetics of infomercials and the relentless intensity of commercial advertising. Every 30 seconds, a new commercial takes over the screen. Since the original videos are two minutes long, the playback speed ramps up drastically, leading to increasing chaos as time progresses.
The display features the current date (day and month) and precise time (hour, minute, second, millisecond). Each new commercial includes subtle variations—shifting the initial price, number of installments, and background color. To enhance authenticity, iconic infomercial elements are incorporated: bold drop shadows on every element, ridiculously small fine print, and the unmistakable "As Seen on TV" logo.
Built in TouchDesigner, this piece explores the interplay between time, consumerism, and sensory overload, transforming an everyday concept into a dynamic, evolving spectacle.
